2008 HONOLULU RAINBOW FILM FESTIVAL ELEVEN MINUTES
USA, 2008
Run Time: 109 min
It’s been two long years since Jay McCarroll was
dubbed “the next great American designer” on
season one of reality TV’s Project Runway, and he’s
anxious to finally show his first line of clothing.
The feature documentary chronicles his year-long
journey preparing his first independent runway
show for New York’s Fashion Week in Bryant Park
and the subsequent selling of his line to stores. The
result is an in-depth, painfully raw and humorous
exploration of the creative process and the
constant conflict of balancing commerce with art,
fame with talent, and reality-TV with actual reality.
Tickets may also be purchased at the venue 30 minutes prior to screenings.
All screenings will be at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, Doris Duke Theatre with the entrance on
Kinau Street. Tickets and passes are non-refundable, but are transferable.
Pass holders must claim their seats at least 15 minutes prior to screenings, at which time seats will
be released to the general public. PASS HOLDERS PLEASE PROCEED TO PASS HOLDERS LINE.
